At risk of getting some heat from friends, I want to share how great St. Petersburg is (we’re not supposed to share the secret and draw too many folks here!). Referred to as the ‘burg by locals, it is a BIG small town. Thriving, vibrant, on the water, young people, active people, dog-lovers, tons of museums, boating, baseball, but mostly bars, restaurants and amazing nightlife, cafe’-life, brunch-life and more. During any given weekend there are no fewer than three events going on (RibFest, art shows, triathlons, car shows, and you wouldn’t believe the Saturday market!). Live music plays daily at many of the cafe/restaurant/pubs that line Beach Drive and Central Avenue. Three fave hangouts are Gratzzi’s, Oyster Bar, and Del Mar Gastro Pub.
Fun fact: St. Pete holds the Guinness World Record for the “most consecutive sunny days” of 768(!), and an average year-round temperature of 81 degrees.
